Aika Kobayashi was born on October 23, 1993 in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. Her nickname is "Aikyan". She voices Yoshiko Tsushima, a main character in Love Live! Sunshine!!. She takes the center position during shows involving Guilty Kiss.
Her call-and-response starts with "Ohayohane!", to which the audience replies "Ohayoshiko!". She replies with an angry "Dakara Yohane yo!", to which the audience is supposed to jump with a "Pyon" sound. Her image color during concerts is gray.

Her current agency is Newcome Inc. She made her debut as an artist in 2011 at the age of 17, and as a voice-actress in Love Live! Sunshine!! in 2015.[1]

- The name Aika means "love, affection" (愛) (ai) and "fragrance, fragrant" (香) (ka).
- Aika's surname Kobayashi means "small" (小) (ko) and "forest" (林) (hayashi/bayashi).

- She has bad eyesight and often wears contacts to correct her vision.[4]
- Her favorite colors are black, grey, red and white.[5]
- The musical artist she respects the most is Namie Amuro.[5]
- Her childhood dream was to be a singer and a preschool teacher. She is actually licensed to be a preschool teacher, and has said that she would pursue this profession if she wasn't a voice actress.[5]
- She cannot handle anything scary (e.g. horror games and movies).
- Her dog Laela may have been the inspiration behind the name "Laelaps" chosen by Yoshiko in Love Live! Sunshine!! Season 2 Episode 5.[5]
- Her first radio interview was for "Kimi o Mamoritai" and was by Aya Uchida and Izumi Kitta. The interviewers remarked that she seemed like an idol. Coincidentally, Yoshiko has the same image color (gray) as Kotori.[6]
- She said that she would love Aqours, μ's and the Nijigasaki High School Idol Club to sing SUNNY DAY SONG together.[7]
