Akina Homoto

Akina Homoto was born on August 5th, 1996 in Osaka, Japan. Her common voice actress nickname is "Homin". She voices Lanzhu Zhong, one of the main characters in Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club.

Background[]

She voices and performs as Kilin from the virtual idol project Live animation "Heart x Algorhythm♪". In December 2015 she participated in the backing chorus of NHK General "Kayo Concert". In April 2016 NHK joined in General TV novel "Toto Nee-chan" (as a female student) and also participated in NHK General "Otacon" backing chorus. And in July 2016, she joined in NHK BS Premium "Cinderella for Examination" also as a female student. While in October 2016 at National Toho Road Show "Someone" Job Hunting Student. Then back in 2017 January, she acted in the Popular mahjong game app "Shoryujin" role of Mako Asaka. And from February-November 2017 she worked in TOKYO MX2 Anu Lab! Akihabara Anime Amusement Research Institute Tamako.

The name Akina means "bright, light, clear" (明) (aki) and "vegetables, greens" (菜) (na).
Akina's surname Homoto means "law, act" (法) (ho) and "beginning, former time, origin" (元) (moto).

Trivia[]

Akina Homoto's specialty is the Chinese language.^[1] She attended elementary and middle school in China and apart from being fluent in Mandarin, she can also speak Cantonese.^[2]
She is half Chinese and half Japanese, with her mother being Chinese.^[3]
Some of her hobbies are drawing and guitar.^[4] She often posts drawings of Love Live! characters on her Twitter account especially during their birthdays.
She also worked on the "Love Live! Superstar!!" anime as part of the Sound Cooperation team.
In December 2021, she and Liyuu (Keke Tang) hosted a full Love Live! NicoNama in Mandarin Chinese, making it the first such stream in a language other than Japanese. Originally broadcast on Chinese video and streaming platform Bilibili^[5], it was later re-uploaded on the main official Love Live! YouTube channel with Japanese subtitles.^[6]
