The tagline for the single is "新しいみんなで叶える物語" (A story that will come true with a new everyone)
The song is written by Aki Hata, composed by Takuya Watanabe and arranged by EFFY.

- Standees of the HAPPY PARTY TRAIN art placed at AnimeJapan 2017 were stamped with both the Love Live! Sunshine!! and Izu-Hakone Railway Group logos, implying some form of collaboration either behind or based on this single's theme
- The single sold 23854 copies on the first day.
- The order in which the members of Aqours sing their respective solo parts in this song matches the order they placed in the poll to determine the song's center.
- Specifically: Kanan, Yoshiko, Hanamaru, Riko, You, Chika, Dia, Mari, Ruby
PV-based[]
- The dancing stage in the PV is based on Bunngomori Rail Yard[2], established in 1934. It is recorded as part of the Heritage of Industrial Modernization by Japan[3]. The rail yard is now a museum and hosts a JNR Class 9600 steam locomotive in the fashion shown in the PV[3][4], but the PV chose a JNR Class C58 instead to base the "Happy Party Train" on[5][6].
- The various scenes are based on Izuhakone Railway Sunzu Line[6][7]. More specifically, Mishima Station and Izu-Nagaoka Station made appearances.
- Mishima Station is at one end of the Sunzu line which connects to the shinkansen bullet trains, while Izu-Nagaoka Station is the station closest to Uchiura where the girls reside.
- The PV marks the first animated appearance of Ruby's younger self.
