Madoka Tsubaki is a supporting character in Love Live! School Idol Musical. She is the co-chairwoman at Tsubakisakuhana Girls' High School as well as the co-founder of the Tsubaki Takizakura Girls' High School Idol Club alongside Kyoka Takizawa. She is also the mother of Rurika Tsubaki.
She was the chairwoman at Tsubakisakuhana Girls' High School prior to the combined annexation of the two schools and the merging of the idol clubs in the series finale.

Background[]
Madoka has been rivals with Kyoka Takizawa ever since their school days; even now, as adults, they constantly fight about the ways they manage their schools. Madoka's approach is to preserve tradition and to focus as much as possible on academics.
In Yumemiru Sekai, it is revealed that she had a husband who has passed away.
Personality[]
Madoka is very strict, usually pushing her daughter to get perfect grades in order to be respected by the scholarly community. She is also highly competitive and would fight with Kyoka at any given chance, even during important meetings with other school directors.
Appearance[]
Madoka has dark brown hair that reaches her shoulders, sometimes wearing it in a low bun on her left side and dark brown-grey eyes. She's generally portrayed as being slightly bigger than the other characters.
Her appearance in the live-action TV series differs from her illustration as she has short, curly dark brown hair instead.

Etymology[]
- The name Madoka (マドカ) is written in katakana, which has no special meaning. However, when written in kanji it could possibly mean:
- 窓 - "window" (mado).
- 丸 - "round, ball" (mado).
- 花- "flower" (ka).
- 香 - "fragrant" (ka).
- 円/圓 - "circle" (mado/madoka).
- Madoka's surname Tsubaki means "camellia" (椿).
Trivia[]
- Her image color is generally portrayed as dark green, which is also present in Tsubakisakuhana's uniform and school badge.[1]
- Madoka and Kyoka Takizawa are the first adult characters in the franchise to be featured in studio recorded songs.
- Also the second non school idol characters to do so. The first one being Yu Takasaki.
