Miyu Kubota

Miyu Kubota was born on January 31, 1995 in Saitama Prefecture, Japan. Her common voice actress nicknames are "Miyuchan" and "Miyutan". She voices Karin Asaka, one of the main characters in Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club.

Her call-and-response during concerts begins with "Minna ni shitsumon desu. Kyou ichiban sexy de jounetsu-tekina performance suru no wa...?" (lit. Here's a question for everyone. Who's going to have the sexiest and most passionate performance today?), to which the audience replies "Karin-senpai!" She then asks, "Watashi shika mietenai no wa...?" (lit. Who has eyes only for me?), to which the audience replies "Ore!" (lit. Me!). She then finishes with, "Kyou no nerai wa kimi ni... ki-me-ta!" (lit. Then for my target today, I choose you!).

Her image color during concerts is royal blue.

Background[]

Kubota attended a technical high school and obtained a license to operate a forklift and to arc weld. As a senior in high school, Kubota passed the Anisong vocal audition. In 2012, she formed the idol group i☆Ris along with five other singers who had passed the audition and debuted in the same year. Her image color was orange. After graduating from high school, she went on to university and continued to work as a voice actress and singer.

In 2013 she began voice acting in the anime Nyaruko: Crawling with Love. In 2014, she obtained her first major role as Sophy Hōjō in PriPara.

I☆Ris won the 10th annual Seiyu Award for singing in 2016.

In September 2017 Kubota was cast as Karin Asaka in the smartphone game Love Live School Idol Festival All Stars.

She loves to watch anime. Her skills are scuba diving, operating a forklift, and arc welding.

Etymology[]

The name Miyu means "dream" (未夢).
Miyu's surname Kubota means "long time" (久) (ku), "protect, maintain, guarantee" (保) (ho/bo) and "field, rice paddy" (田) (ta).
