Rurino Osawa is a main character in Link! Like! Love Live!. She is a second year student at Hasunosora Girls' High School. She is a member of Mira-Cra Park!, a unit under the Hasunosora Girls' High School Idol Club. Her image color is ruri pink.[1]

Background[]

Returning from studying abroad in California, she is enrolling at Hasunosora as a first-year student. She and Megumi Fujishima have been childhood friends since elementary school, with Rurino looking up to her as the cool, older kid capable of doing anything.

Personality[]

She is a cheerful and energetic girl, able to find enjoyment in anything and anyone. However, she must always consider her "battery", a sort of social battery that depletes quickly. If this gets too low, then she loses all her energy and ability to think, being unable to communicate properly and appearing extremely lethargic and sluggish. In order to preserve this energy, she has to quickly find time to herself, treating it as a recharging period. Because of her energy's short limit, she enjoys solitary activities and places in nature.

Because of her time in California, she claims that she can speak English. However, in fact, her English is not very good, and is something that only Kaho is impressed by.

Her hobbies are fishing, karaoke, and going to the batting cages. Her special skill is "finding fun in anything!", and she enjoys art and music classes. Her favorite foods are tapioca and kohakuto (meaning "amber sugar", a traditional Japanese candy), her favorite animals are chow chows and big bears, and her favorite phrase is "The heart that does not want to enter that path is your own personal master". This saying is included in a traditional tea ceremony guide, and it means that it's difficult to continue something unenjoyable just because others tell you to. In order to venture upon a path, you must want to do it and take an initiative in it, and this mindset becomes one's master in this analogy.

Appearance[]

Rurino is a short girl with long blonde hair, dyed(?) blue on the ends. She has arranged it in two pigtails, with smaller pigtails resting on top of those. These are held together with two big white and pink flower clips. She has bright blue eyes and a red year ribbon.

Trivia[]

  • Her interest in batting cages may be a reference to her time spent in California, as the concept of batting centers was originally imported to Japan from the United States[2].
  • She is one of the few characters with differently colored hair, the others being Kaoruko Mifune, Natsumi Onitsuka, and Tsuzuri Yugiri.
  • Her official return is in episode 9.
