Sayaka Harukaze is a main character in Love Live! School Idol Musical. She is a second-year student at Tsubaki Takizakura Girls' High School. She is a member of the Tsubaki Takizakura Girls' High School Idol Club. Her image color is rapeseed yellow.[3]
She was a second-year student at Takizakura Girls' Academy and a member of the Takizakura Girls' Academy Idol Club prior to the combined annexation of the two schools and the merging of the idol clubs in the series finale.
Background[]
Sayaka is classmates with Anzu Takizawa and Rena Suzuka who are also part of the entertainment course idol club. She is confident in her strong voice and aims for the center spot at her club.
Personality[]
Bright and positive, Sayaka greatly values individuality and the time she spends being by herself, even if other members might disagree and find her selfish. She aims for the center spot in her club, currently being held by Anzu Takizawa, with whom she has a friendly rivalry.
Appearance[]
Sayaka has shoulder-length, brown hair with light brown highlights that she ties into a half bun. On her right side she has many bobby pins of different colors randomly put together on top of each other.
Unlike her fellow club members, her tie is green instead of blue, Sayaka also wears big white legwarmers as part of her uniform. Her eyes are a desaturated gold and her eyelids are slightly darker.

- The name Sayaka is written in katakana (サヤカ) which has no special meaning. However, when written in kanji, it could possibly mean:
- 沙耶香 - "small" (沙) (sa)[4], "question mark" (耶) (ya)[5] and "incense" (香) (ka)[6].
- 彩花 - "color" (彩) (saya)[7] and "flower" (花) (ka)[8].
- 紗也可 - "gauze" (紗) (sa)[9], "to be" (也) (ya)[10] and "approval" (可) (ka)[11].
- 才加 - "genius" (才)[12] (saya) and "addition" (加) (ka)[13].
- 涼 - "cool breeze" (sayaka)[14].
- Sayaka's surname Harukaze means "sunny" (晴) (haru)[15] and "wind, breeze" (風) (kaze)[16].
Trivia[]
- Sayaka shares her name with Sayaka Murano from Hasunosora Girls' High School Idol Club, making her the first main character in the franchise to share her name with another main character.
- It is written differently in Japanese, however. While Hasunosora's Sayaka is written in hiragana (さやか), Takizakura's Sayaka is written in katakana (サヤカ).
