Sayuri Date was born on September 30, 2002 in Miyagi, Japan. Her common voice actress nickname is Sayurin. She voices Kanon Shibuya, one of the main characters in Love Live! Superstar!!.

In 6th grade, Sayuri was impressed by the fact that, despite being idols, one of her friend formed a band. They inspired her to take up the guitar as a hobby. Sayuri began composing music during her second year of junior high school, aspiring to the lyrics and songwriting of her friend.
She has a younger brother.

- The name Sayuri is written in hiragana (ใใใ), which has no special meaning. However, when written in kanji (ๅฐ็พๅ), it could possibly mean "small" (ๅฐ) (sa) and "lily" (็พๅ) (yuri).
- Sayuri's surname Date means "show/showy, dandyism, foppery, gallantry, vainglory/vainglorious" (ไผ้).

- Like Nagisa Aoyama, she was selected from the open audition held by the Love Live! staff.
- She is the niece of comedian Mikio Date, and both of them are related to Masamune Date, a famous japanese historical figure.
