Tomari Onitsuka is a main character in Love Live! Superstar!!. She is a second-year student at Yuigaoka Girls' High School. She is a third-generation member of Liella! and a member of the sub-unit 5yncri5e!. She was also a member of TomaKanoTe. Her image color is smoky blue.[1]
Background[]
Tomari is the younger sister of Natsumi Onitsuka.
Tomari's hobby is playing puzzle games. Her skills are keeping things tidy, scheduling and mental arithmetic. Her favourite subjects in school are geography and statistics. Her favorite animal is a jellyfish.
She is already very athletic and a great dancer, but she doesn't see the point in training every day, which angers Margarete.
Personality[]
Tomari dislikes wasting time. Tomari is organized, analytical but kind, even though her words can be misinterpreted.
Her favorite saying is, "Dreams can't nourish you."
Like her older sister, Tomari views school idol activities as a potential income stream that will generate profit for her family. Unlike her sister however, Tomari's personality comes off as stiff and calculating to others. Because of her natural talent for dancing, she does not see much of a point in showing up to practice sessions unless she has something to gain from attending. While she can be very aloof, Tomari has a deep respect for her older sister, and decides to follow in Natsumi's example after seeing how much being a school idol meant to her.
Appearance[]
Tomari has shoulder-length sea green hair that she ties into two high braided pigtails and hot pink eyes. Just like her sister, Tomari has two-toned hair, with the tips being light blue.

| Tomari stands outside the School Idol Club room and listens to her sister, Natsumi, get told she'll have to drink a red-hot chili smoothie as punishment. Tomari then walks way.

| Tomari witnesses Margarete refuse to allow Kanon to join her club. Tomari points out that terms that are written in after a contract is signed would be null and void, siding with Kanon's choice to join the club. Margarete and Kanon are curious about Tomari, prompting Tomari to admit she'd like to confirm something about school idols, which is why she's considering joining Margarete's club. Tomari tells Kanon and Margarete not to pay attention to her, and leaves when the school bell rings. On her way back inside, Tomari tells herself she will see just what Natsumi is truly capable of.
Tomari approaches Kanon and Margarete again, telling the duo that the Yoyogi Fes will only profit if people watch it. Kanon tells Tomari that the fes organizers aren't collecting money or selling anything, prompting Tomari to recall what Natsumi told her about Kanon. Margarete becomes frustrated with Tomari, so Kanon suggests they practice. However, Tomari won't practice until she thinks it's necessary for her to participate. Tomari declares that she doesn't want to waste time today, and excuses herself from practice. Margarete takes offense to calling practice a waste of time, so Tomari shows them her dance skill. Tomari admits she is quite confident in her core, and asks the girls to contact her once they have the general details about their song. Tomari then hands her club application to Margarete, revealing to the girls that she is Natsumi's younger sister. Tomari approaches Liella! on the roof to explain everything. Tomari starts by thanking Liella! for looking after Natsumi, before explaining that she joined the other club to see what school idols fundamentally do with her own eyes. Tomari recalls Natsumi telling her that being a school idol is special because it allows her to dream. Tomari reveals she is working with Kanon and Margarete the absolute minimum possible. She figured she could rationally analyze various things if she was in a different group than Natsumi. Tomari apologizes for her sudden visit, and leaves. Later that night, Natsumi knocks on Tomari's door. However, Tomari dismisses her because she's currently tracking her income and expenditures. Tomari doesn't say a word when Natsumi tells her to take being a school idol seriously, and be a school idol they can all be proud of. While looking at a picture of Liella!, Tomari tells herself that school idols are going to hurt Natsumi. The next day, Tomari tells Kanon and Margarete that she made a website with their profiles, and that given the view count, she predicts they'll get over 50,000 viewers on the day of the livestream. With the song finished, Tomari observes as Margarete accepts to write the song's lyrics. During practice, Tomari pulls off a move that stuns Kanon and Margarete. Tomari believes that would be the minimum necessary if they want to garner attention, but Kanon unfortunately the idea. Sometime later, Tomari shows them an outfit she has in mind, and reveals that they could create and install their own exclusive payment system. Kanon quickly rejects the idea, which Tomari notes as harsh. While jogging with Kanon and Margarete, she stops with them to look at the Yoyogi Fes stage. Oh the day of the livestream, Tomari is prepared for the performance, and is curious about why they're running late. Tomari, alongside Kanon and Margarete, are informed that the view count is below 10,000. Tomari concludes that getting over 10,000 likes at this point is impossible, and that there's no reason to sing now. Tomari thinks it's unfortunate, and listens as Margarete admits the low view count must be because of her. As Margarete walks away, Tomari is surprised when Kanon decides they should still sing. Tomari agrees to sing, and performs Bubble Rise with them. After the performance, Tomari can't see it having any value, but Kanon tells her she'll get it someday. Tomari is then surprised when Kanon hugs both her and Margarete. | ||

| Tomari, alongside Kanon, reads comments about Margarete when they performed Bubble Rise, which embarrases Margarete. Tomari then points out that nothing will change the fact they won't be able to participate in Yoyogi Fes. Tomari is informed by Margarete that her goal has always been to win Love Live, so Yoyogi Fes doesn't matter. When Liella! is talking about TomaKanoTe, Keke imagines Tomari posing alongside Kanon and Margarete as "Newella!".
On the day of Yoyogi Fes, Tomari walks into the Shibuya family's cafe, and is surprised to see Kanon and Margarete. Tomari is informed that Kanon lives there, before Margarete angrily tells her that practice is over for today. Tomari admits she was told by Natsumi that she could get some delicious apple pie from this cafe, so she was going to ask if it was available as a take-away order. Margarete argues if Tomari can bother coming to the cafe, then she needs to come to practice, but Tomari reminds her that she'll practice when she thinks it's necessary. Kanon stops Tomari from arguing further by telling her to watch Liella! perform at Yoyogi Fes. At Yoyogi Fes, Tomari is told to shut up by Margarete after she reveals she heard Margarete had immediately bought a ticket. After Liella! performs Special Color, Tomari leaves with Kanon and Margarete to practice. | ||

Etymology[]
- The name Tomari means "winter" (冬) (to) and "ball" (毬) (mari).
- Tomari's surname Onitsuka means "demon, ogre, daemon" (鬼) (oni) and "mound, hill/hillock, heap, knoll, pile, drift, stack, bank" (塚) (tsuka).
Trivia[]
- Of the four Liella! members whose voice actresses were selected through open auditions, Tomari is the only one not to be a part of Yuigaoka's student council.
- Tomari has three pet jellyfish, two of which are named after Natsumi and Margarete.
- Given the jellyfish were named prior to TomaKanoTe joining Liella! and Tomari's own admiration of her, it is likely the third was named after Kanon.
